Wednesday 1 July
Happy birthday Mum!
A friend sent me this, Bruce Springsteen doing 'London Calling' -- truly awesome! I have come to the conclusion that Joe Strummer was the British Bruce or visa versa -- discuss! In the meantime here is Bruce doing London Calling in Philli -- I hear he openned with it in Hyde Park too! I don't know why I like this so much but I do!
I am also loving the new Phoenix album, I've only recently really started listening intently to them and have to admit some love!
Monday 29 June
We are proud to announce that CALYPSO will be playing the TISWAS openning party at Don Hill's Saturday 18 July. Manning the decks will be NIck Marc, Spicky Phil and Jess. Special guests will be announced on this site.
Wednesday 17 June
My favourite
song of the summer so far has to be friends of TISWAS The Glass' 'Wanna Be Dancin''. You have to check out the video too. Lego rave, riot and dancin' -- awesome!
Friday 12 June
We are very excited to announce
that TISWAS will be returning to Don Hill's starting Saturday 18 July and the third Saturday every month thereafter. It will be sweet to return to our old home, Don Hill is still one of my favorite people in the world and we are looking forward to returning. Full details to be announced soon.
Monday 25 May
Well moving to The Studio was a truly horrible move and I am pleased to say we have moved on! We are not slagging off Webster Hall in any way and would like to thank all at the venue as they are all thorourghly decent people, it is just that TISWAS did not work in that enviroment and the sets we ended up playing did not resemble TISWAS in any shape or form as we had to entertain those who were there which was more of a clubby bridge and tunnel vibe so we apologize to all those who came down and were disappointed! We look forward to announcing
our future plans for TISWAS NYC later this week -- we do not think anyone will be disappointed!
Monday 23 March
Thanks to all those who came down last Saturday, Denny for a great guest DJ set and Kap Bambino
for a wildly energetic set which had the room jumping.
This Saturday we have Jess back spinning with Phil and I and we are hosting an afterparty for one of my favorite bands ever -- Primal Scream who are playing the Grand Ballroom at Webster Hall earlier that evening. Hope to see you then!

Thursday 19 March
For those of you not at SXSW -- where I really wish I was if only for the sun -- we hope to see you this Saturday at TISWAS NYC at the Studio at Webster Hall! This week we welcome a live performance from Fench electro wizards KAP BAMBINO who have earned comparisons to Crystal Castles and Justice. Also this being Jess' week off we welcome a very special guest DJ, DENNY LE NIMH from the Ruff Club.
Hope to see you all there!
Monday 16 March
Thanks for all of you who came down to The Studio last Saturday night, we hope you had as good a time as we did!
This coming Saturday we welcome a live performance from French electro punk meastros KAP BAMBINO, check out the flyer on the home page. We will be anouncing a special guest DJ later in the week.
Thursday 12 March
Hope we
see you all this Saturday at The Studio when we launch the brand new TISWAS party! We are all psyched and looking forward seeing you all again!
I suggest you all check out Empire Of The Sun. A collaboration between Luke Steele from The Sleepy Jackson and Pnau's Nick Littlemore they soundwhat like MGMT but with a touch of New Order, look like characters from a fantasy video game and the songs are outstanding -- amazing!
See you Saturday!

Monday 9 March

Stay tuned
we will be anouncing TISWAS NYC's new home by the end of the week, there are a few i's to do dotted t's to be crossed and we are there and we will be rocking again in no time. We are excited and you should be too because soon there will be more smoke, more lights, better soundsystem, bigger stage, special guest bands and DJs along with the DJs you know and love -- believe me, it is going to rock!
In the meantime TISWAS RECORDS' latest signings OPERAHOUSE have landed in New York City and I strongly recommend that you come and see these guys either in Boston on Tuesday at Great Scott, Wednesday at Fontana's here in NYC and finally at Jess' awesome Trash! at The Studio at Webster Hall -- check em out -- they are something special! I wil be in Boston tomorrow for the show as well as in New York Wednesday and I hope Feriday at Trash! if I can find someone to fill in for me at The Rose Bar.
I am also looking forward to the Watchmen movie -- it is one of my favorite comic books, they did a great job with 300 so I'm hoping for the best with this one!
Also I am now on Twitter at twitter.com/nickmarc.

Friday 13 February
As you may have heard
we are not at The Annex this Saturday night and I very much doubt we will ever be back there.
Having been at The Annex since it opened we should have had some notice if the powers to be wanted to terminate our relationship but it is what it is.
This Saturday we will be celebrating the release of Morrissey's latest album 'Years Of Refusal' at The Studio at Webster Hall (125 East 11th St btw. 3 +4 Aves) and all the Tiswas DJs, Nick, Phil and Jess will be on hand to supply the tunes!
Stay posted for further updates on where exactly TISWAS will move to and in the meantime we will keep you updated on what we are up to.
Next week sees the debut US shows from London's Operahouse. Their first American release, the Genius Child EP is out soon on our very own Tiswas Records and we hope you come down and see them at The Studio next Friday 20 February at DJ Jess' legendary Trash! They are also playing Fontana's on Wednesday with Plushgun and Jean On Jean (Out Hud side project) amongst others. For those of you in Boston Operahouse will play their first ever US show Tuesday at Great Scott.
Random thoughts on this last week, Chelsea FC -- ha ha ha ha ha, Giggsy's signed a new deal at United -- the man is a living legend, A-Rod is on roids so what most American atheletes look like they are, seriously no other athelete in the world looks lke the Yanks -- that doesn't just come from working out! Don't the Republicans realise they lost the last two elections,
the economy is scary and I am still digging the Kings Of Leon's latest!

Come see us this Saturday at The Studio!
Thursday 12 February

Today being the 200th birthday
of both Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin it is appropiate in the least to salute both men as giants among the history of man. It also amazing that two men who had such an impact on man were born on the same day. It is hard to say who had a greater impact, I'd say Abe on a whole because he saved a country and set coarse for a more diverse nation and was quite possibly the only man who could do it. Not to underestimate Charles Darwin's contribution but there is an argument to be made that evolution was always there and if Darwin had not figured it out some one else would have. What does this have to do with Tiswas, parties and music? My answer would be both had the courage to say something unpopular with conviction in the face of a hostile society and that is pretty punk rock in my book!

Thursday 5 February
Welcome to the new Tiswas website -- we've been hard at work building it and I hope you all like it! Having spent the best part of a week staring at my computer screen and spinning both tomorrow and Saturday this will not be a long message but gotta start somewhere.
Being a longtime fan of the Cramps and having seen them on numerous occasions over the years I was very sorry to see that Lux Interior died. A huge loss though I have to say I was surprised to read he was 62. R.I.P. Lux!
